It has been a while since we posted about a headphone. So, what about a premium headphone within 2000? Will it be a flagship killer in the headphone segment? Let us check out the newly lauched One Plus Bullet Z Wireless Headphone.

What’s in the box:

Headphones, manuals, a type-C cable, and 3 extra ear tips of different sizes. This is one of the few headphones to use a type-C charger.

Physical Examination:

As per as the look is concerned, it is pretty much similar to that of its predecessor One plus Bullet 2 which costs 4000 more than this device. It has a magnetic lock with an auto-pause feature. This is a pretty good feature which was absent in this price range. We have a separate battery section, a separate volume control section, and a separate button for switching devices which is one of the specialties of this device. The battery section has a battery, a charging port and an LED to indicate charging.

Build quality is so good that it looks premium. Here, One Plus did a great job. Neckband is made of good quality light-weight rubber. The fit is so good so that we won’t feel that we are wearing this device. Wire quality is fair and the device just weighs 28 grams.

Call Quality:

Call quality is pretty good but the mic is what makes the difference. The quality of the mic is excellent which gives at most clarity to our voice. Bluetooth range is good and signal reception is quite good.

Sound Quality:

The sound is clear and well-rounded. It gives us a full-fledged sound for all kinds of music. The only problem with this device is that the bass effect is not up to the level of Boat headphones. So, those who are addicted to hear songs with high bass won’t love this headphone. So, I won’t prefer this headphone to those who require high bass.

Highs: very good

Mids and Voice: so good

Sound staging: good

Bass: Average

Latency:

Latency or the sound delay is quite common in Bluetooth headphones so that the video watching and gaming experiences are affected. This is one of the main reasons for most people who avoid Bluetooth headphones. One Plus provided a great solution which reduced the latency. It promised that latency will be much lower for One Plus devices.

Functions:

Listed below are some of the features to be used for different operations.

Plus Button

  • Single click – you can increase the volume level.
  • Long press – you can play the next song.

Minus Button

  • Single click – you can decrease the volume level.
  • Double click – you can listen to the previous track.

Switch Button:

  • Hold for 3 seconds to connect to a device.
  • Double Tap: It switches from one device to another. It takes only a second to switch and it will be even faster in One Plus devices.

Features:

  • It comes with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
  • It has a Warp Charge which makes sure 10 minutes of charge last or 10 hours. Warp Charge is only supported on One Plus Dash Charger.
  • Full battery capacity is ranged up to 20 hours.
  • It is rated with IP55 sweat and water resistance which helps us during workouts and jogs.

Competition:

The main competitor of this device is Realme Buds Wireless. It looks similar in looks but only offers normal USB cable. It has no fast-charging. Battery range is less than that of One Plus. Overall music quality is less than that of One Plus but it has good bass effect. So, the only visible advantage over One Plus is the bass effect and the cost. It costs around 1800, 200 less than that of One plus.

Finally, This headphone is preferred for its great fit, humungous battery range, fast charging, good connectivity and mic quality, low latency, and good overall sound quality. One Plus did a great job in creating a premium headphone under 2000. Its predecessor cost 6000 but I would say this headphone beats its predecessor in most of the cases. If you are a music listener of various ranges, you will be more than happy to grab one.
